The
large number of studies related to the prevalence of mental disorders in the
Brazilian population shows the importance of this particular theme to the
healthy field. The epidemiological studies are extremely important to determine
this magnitude, being very useful and relevant in the decisions and planning of
public mental health policies, in the organization of services and also, in the
development of prevention and treatment programs.
