Analyse of Behavioural Neurology in Personality Disorders: A Bi-dimensional Model

Author Mansour discussed a new scientific approach to analyse mental disorders. This approach is rooted in the application of neurobehavioral principles to the development of a model of personality. As opposed to the traditional methods which rely on behaviour alone, this model uses a two-dimensional approach todefine personality disorders. This approach takes into account the behaviour as well as the pathophysiology. In addition, this model also aims at integrating various aspects such as the biological and socio-neurodevelopmental aspects with the clinical aspects to any extent possible.

The primary biological principle: it has been established that neurobiological factors, including genetic factors, play a significant role in the aetiology of pd. Further, several twin studies have found that traits related to positive aspects of personality, such as altruism and pro-sociality, are significantly heritable, although environmental factors continue to be the most significant influences in this respect.
