Drugs abuse remains as a serious
cause of health concern as 4.7 and 14.3% of the population have been exposed to
methamphetamine and cocaine, usage
respectively in their lifetime. Long time and regular exposure to these drugs leads to neurodegenerative disorders.
An
8 week Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) intervention was given to a
selected few and a comparative study was conducted to evaluate the
effectiveness of the interventions in beating the stress. The study established
MBRP as an effective psychosocial stress buster among adults subjected to drug
abuse. Participants
were 22 stimulant dependent adults who participated in a pilot RCT of an 8-week
MBRP intervention, relative to a HE control intervention for stimulant dependence
